Shannon Murray: For more than 30 years, the Children's Art Project has been making life better for children with cancer at M. D. Anderson Cancer Center. More than 30 years ago we started as a card project. It was a volunteer's idea and today we produce many, many products like the ones you see in front of me. Everything from the traditional greeting cards to tote bags, umbrellas, t-shirts, sterling silver jewelry, calendars, books, ornaments, wrapping paper and gift tags. Ceramics, silk scarves and ties, and much more. Something for everybody on your list. The Children's Art Project really operates as a business.

Paying for all of its services but with all profits returning to fund programs that benefit the children's educational, emotional and recreational needs. Over the 30 years, the Children's Art Project has returned more than $20 million back to M. D. Anderson to fund patient focus programs like the in-hospital education program, the child life program, summer camps, scholarships, fun events and many other programs that are only possible because of the Children's Art Project proceeds.

You too can help make life better for children with cancer by visiting our website www.childrensart.org or calling us at 1-800-231-1580, and help us make life better for children with cancer.
