Welcome to an overhead view of the largest medical center in the world!
We’re currently flying just south of downtown Houston, over the famous Texas Medical Center, where every day, thousands of people come from all over the world… for treatment… to work…and to study.

This thousand-acres is home to more than 40 academic, healthcare and research institutions. Eleven colleges and universities have programs here:  Rice University, Baylor College of Medicine, Texas Woman’s University, Texas A&M, The University of Texas, and M. D. Anderson’s School of Health Sciences to name a few.

There are 13 hospitals here. Among them:  Hermann, St. Luke’s, Methodist, and Shriner’s…The Texas Heart Institute and Texas Children’s Hospitals… and the world renowned M. D. Anderson Cancer Center.

In addition to the 2 medical schools there are schools of nursing, dentistry, public health and pharmacy. Virtually every health related career and medical specialty is taught, studied and practiced here.

For the more than 5 million people who come here for medical treatment in a given year, this is a place of hope…the best that can be found.

For the clinicians and scientists who work and study here, it’s a place of discovery and innovation, with boundless possibilities for research collaboration.

And for all the professionals who work and study here, it’s a place where excellence and enthusiasm matter. This place could surely be called one of the medical wonders of the world.
